Dr Majed Refai

Dr Majed Refai is a highly skilled Consultant in Thoracic Surgery, dedicated to providing his patients with exceptional care. He has a particular focus on minimally invasive techniques, which can lead to improved recovery times and outcomes for patients undergoing major lung procedures. Dr Refai is committed to a patient-centred approach, ensuring that each individual receives a treatment plan tailored to their specific needs.

His clinical interests are extensive and include the latest advancements in thoracic surgical care. Dr Refai is proficient in performing Uniportal VATS (Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery) for major lung resections and thymectomy. He also has a focus on Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) programmes, which are designed to help patients recover more quickly and with fewer complications following their operation.

Dr Refai earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the American University of Beirut in 1988, followed by his medical degree from the University of Ancona, Italy, in 1995. He completed his residency in Thoracic Surgery at the same university in 2001. He further honed his skills as a clinical fellow in the Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery department at the CHU de Caen in France in 2000.
