Dr Maher Almalis

Dr Maher Almalis is a Consultant Ophthalmologist who specialises in the diagnosis and management of conditions affecting the retina and vitreous. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for a wide range of complex eye diseases, utilising advanced diagnostic techniques to ensure accurate assessments for his patients.

Dr Almalis obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from Damascus University in Syria. He is a holder of the Arab Board of Health Specializations and was recognised as a Consultant in Ophthalmic Disease and Surgery by the Ministry of Health in Syria. Furthermore, he holds a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow in the UK.

His clinical practice focuses on both the medical and surgical treatment of retinal disorders. Dr Almalis is proficient in performing vitreo-retinal surgeries, managing retinal diseases with laser and injections, and performing phacoemulsification surgery for cataracts with intraocular lens implantation. He also has a particular interest in the management and follow-up of patients with diabetic eye disease.
