Dr Ibrahim Abdullah

Dr Ibrahim Abdullah is a dedicated and experienced Consultant in cardiothoracic surgery, with a particular focus on paediatric cardiac conditions. He provides comprehensive and compassionate care to his patients, ensuring they and their families have a thorough understanding of the diagnosis and the proposed treatment plan. His approach is reassuring, aiming to address all questions and concerns with clarity and empathy.

Dr Abdullah specialises in the surgical treatment of a wide spectrum of congenital heart diseases. These range from common conditions such as atrial and ventricular septal defects to more complex cases, including complete atrioventricular canal, transposition of the great arteries, and hypoplastic left heart syndrome. He is committed to employing advanced surgical techniques to achieve the best possible outcomes for his young patients.

In cases where a child's heart is not able to function adequately, Dr Abdullah is also skilled in assessing and providing heart transplantation as a treatment option. He works within a multidisciplinary team to ensure each patient receives holistic and personalised care tailored to their specific needs.

Dr Abdullah earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He completed his general surgery training at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by adult cardiothoracic surgery training at Brigham and Women's Hospital. He then undertook a specialised fellowship in paediatric cardiac surgery at Boston Children's Hospital.
