She then pursued advanced training at the University of Western Ontario in Canada, completing fellowships in Ablative and Reconstructive Breast Surgery and Breast Surgical Oncology and Oncoplastic Surgery, as well as a Master of Science in Surgery.
Before joining King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Jeddah, she worked as an Ablative and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon at London Health Sciences Centre in Ontario, and as a Consultant Breast Oncology Surgeon at Dr. Samir Abbas Hospital in Jeddah.
Alongside her clinical practice, Dr. Khayat has been involved in surgical education, trainee supervision, oncoplastic surgery workshops, conference organisation, research publications, and patient support initiatives for breast cancer patients and their families.
