Dr. Asim Alwohaibi

Dr Asim Alwohaibi is a Consultant in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility and Assistant Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at King Saud University, with 17 years of clinical and academic experience. He is licensed by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, with a subspecialty in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility currently practicing at Bnoon fertility and Women’s Health Centre in Riyadh.

Dr Alwohaibi completed French specialist training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Paris Descartes University, followed by a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility at Cochin University Hospital in Paris. 

His previous roles include Head of the Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility Unit and Obstetrics and Gynaecology Residency Program Director at King Saud University Medical City. He has also held a consultant role at Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Hospital and in his early career, Resident and Demonstrator roles at King Khalid University Hospital.

His clinical interests include IVF and ICSI, ovarian stimulation, fertility preservation and oncofertility, embryo vitrification and frozen embryo transfer (FET) protocols, recurrent implantation failure work-up and male-factor infertility co-management. He also has an interest in AI-assisted assisted reproductive technology, including embryo and sperm selection. Within this area, Dr Alwohaibi led the clinical management of Saudi Arabia’s first birth from a AI assisted IVF cycle in 2026. This achievement reflected the integration of AI technology into sperm selection practice within Saudi Arabia. 

Dr Alwohaibi has also contributed to research in reproductive medicine, including studies examining IVF/ICSI outcomes, frozen-thawed blastocyst transfer and live-birth outcomes, as well as research involving artificial intelligence in foetal head biometry. His academic contributions demonstrate his passion for evidence based practice and leading advancements within the field of infertility.
