Dr Abdulmalik Altaf

Dr Abdulmalik Altaf is a respected Professor and Consultant in General Surgery and Bariatric Surgery. He is dedicated to providing exceptional care and utilises the latest medical devices and techniques, including laparoscopy, to manage and diagnose complex surgical cases. Dr Altaf is also recognised for his academic contributions, having published over forty peer-reviewed research papers in international and local scientific journals.

Dr Altaf has a distinguished educational and training background, primarily in Canada. He was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in General Surgery and also holds the American Board of Surgery certification. He completed fellowships in Bariatric Surgery at McGill and Dalhousie Universities, and a further fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery at Dalhousie University.

In addition to his clinical and academic roles, Dr Altaf is an active member of the surgical community. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and has previously served as the President of the Saudi General Surgery Society. His professional memberships include the Canadian Association of General Surgeons and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr Altaf has also contributed to a globally patented invention for a surgical mesh with innovative antibacterial properties.
