Dr Yaser A.R. Nasser is a specialist ophthalmologist at Prime Hospital, with over 15 years of experience in a variety of ophthalmology specialties, including complex medical and surgical cases. In addition to his clinical abilities in refractive, anterior, and posterior segment procedures, he has 6 years of academic experience as a lecturer at the College of Medicine at Al-Mustansiriya University in Iraq and as a trainer for the Arab board of ophthalmology.

He has expertise in the following areas:

• Femto-Lasik, Lasik, SMILE, PRK for the correction of refractive errors.
• Phacoemulsification and foldable IOL implantation for cataract
• Retinal Surgery: Pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) for retinal detachments and various vitreoretinal conditions.
• Pan-retinal photocoagulation (PRP) and focal laser therapy for diabetic retinopathy (DR)
• Keratoconus management by cross-linking CXL
• Squint surgeries for horizontal and vertical strabismus
• Subthreshold micro-pulse laser therapy for glaucoma and retinal conditions
• ICL (implantable contact lens) for correction of high refractive errors

Dr Nasser graduated with distinction from the College of Medicine/Al Mustansiriya University and then went on to enter the programme of the Arab Board of Health Specialisation in Baghdad, where he graduated top of his group. He is also a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and a fellow of the International Council of Ophthalmology.
