Prof. Dr. Sammy Hanna is a highly regarded consultant orthopaedic hip and knee surgeon from the UK, with an extensive career spanning over 18 years in both the UK and Canada. Before joining Healthpoint in January 2022, he held a prominent clinical and academic position in London.

In his public practice, Prof. Dr. Hanna worked at the esteemed Royal London Hospital, a major trauma center renowned for its tertiary care services. Here, he treated severely injured patients in a tertiary environment. Additionally, he maintained a private practice at prestigious institutions such as the London Clinic in Harley Street and the Cromwell Hospital.

Prof. Dr. Hanna's extensive training includes residency at the prestigious Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in London, followed by advanced fellowship training in hip and knee surgery at the Rorabeck-Bourne Joint Replacement Institute at the University of Western Ontario in Canada. He holds board certification in Orthopaedic Surgery in the UK and is a fellow of both the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the American College of Surgeons.

His clinical interests cover a wide spectrum of hip and knee surgery, including primary, complex primary, and revision arthroplasty for various pathologies. He also specialises in arthroscopic surgery for sports and soft tissue-related injuries, as well as the surgical management of complex lower limb fractures. Prof. Dr. Hanna has a particular focus on partial knee replacements, minimally invasive surgical techniques, and robotic-assisted hip and knee replacements.

With extensive experience in managing football-related hip and knee injuries, Prof. Dr. Hanna is certified by FIFA, having successfully completed their Diploma in Football Medicine. Furthermore, he serves as a senior clinical lecturer at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London, where he is actively involved in research, teaching, and education.

Prof. Dr. Hanna's research interests revolve around assessing outcomes following hip and knee surgery, as well as evaluating the performance of different bearing surfaces and materials used in total hip and knee replacements. He has made significant contributions to the field through numerous presentations, lectures, and over 65 papers published in the international orthopaedic literature.
