In January 2023, Dr Martin Wetterhall joined Healthpoint as a Consultant Spine and Orthopaedic Surgeon. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Hälsouniversitetet Linköping, Sweden in 2006 and completed his training as a registered spine surgeon with the Swedish Society of Spinal Surgeons in 2017 following a three-year tenure.

Dr Wetterhall developed his expertise through various complementary courses within orthopaedics and spine, receiving training in cutting-edge surgical practices at Bern University, Switzerland, and Stockholm Spine Center, Upplands Väsby.

With a career spanning 17 years, Dr Wetterhall has held key positions in orthopaedic departments in both Sweden and the UAE. Notably, in his recent role as Consultant Spine and Orthopaedic Surgeon in the Neuro-Orthopaedic Center at the Ryhov Regional Hospital, he conducted surgeries for patients with spinal injuries, deformities, degenerative pain conditions, and orthopaedic fractures.

Dr Wetterhall specialises in spinal surgery, focusing on degenerative cases like disc disorders, spine instability/deformity, nerve entrapment, infectious disorders, and tumours of the spine. He employs a variety of techniques, including both posterior and anterior approaches, open and minimally invasive surgery, and SI-joint fusions. In addition to his expertise in spinal surgery, Dr Wetterhall has experience performing surgeries for patients with orthopaedic trauma.
