Dr. Mariam Georgette Awatai is a highly experienced Senior Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with over 30 years of experience.

Dr. Awatai achieved a Fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG) and holds a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (CCT). She also completed a Diploma in Advanced Obstetric Scanning from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecology and the Royal College of Radiologists (Dip. RCR/RCOG), as well as her Postgraduate diplomas in Family Planning from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecology (DFFP).

Throughout her career, Dr. Awatai has shown a particular interest in high-risk pregnancy management, advanced obstetric scanning, general gynaecology, medical education, and clinical governance. Her dedication to women's health led her to practise for two decades in the United Kingdom, during which she became a consultant in North London. Her expertise include Feto-Maternal Medicine, High Risk Obstetrics, Minimal Access Surgery, and Medical Education.

Dr. Awatai's journey began at Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Nigeria, before she moved to the United Kingdom in 1993. She has practised at several esteemed hospitals in London and the UK, including King's College Hospital, Victoria Hospital, St. George's Hospital, Whittington Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital, and more. Her roles as a Specialist Registrar and later as a Senior Specialist Registrar have further solidified her expertise.

Her commitment to excellence extended to the United Arab Emirates, where she practised at a prominent government hospital in Abu Dhabi as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist. She contributed significantly to the field, serving as Lead Clinician, Associate Programme Director for Family Medicine, and a core member of the Postgraduate Medical Education Faculty.

Dr. Awatai's dedication to medical education, research, and philanthropy is evident through her achievements. Her passion for sharing knowledge and advancing her field is highlighted by her recognition as Best Educator of the Year. With her substantial experience, teaching, administrative skills, and contribution to medical journals and conferences, she has become a respected figure in the world of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
