Dr. Luisa M. Sastre is a highly respected Consultant Ophthalmologist specialising in Medical Retina and Cataract Surgery. With extensive experience spanning over two decades, Dr. Sastre is renowned for her expertise and dedication to providing exceptional eye care to patients in both regional and international settings.

Dr. Sastre earned her medical degree from the prestigious Universidad Autonoma Medical School in Spain. She completed her ophthalmology residency at Hospital Universitario Gregorio Maranon in Madrid, where she received comprehensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of various eye conditions. Dr. Sastre is board certified in both Intensive Care medicine and ophthalmology.

In addition to her clinical qualifications, Dr. Sastre holds a PhD from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid and a Master's degree in Healthcare Organisation Leadership from ESADE Business School. 

Throughout her career, Dr. Sastre has held positions at renowned medical institutions such as Hospital Universitario Fundación Jiménez Díaz and Hospital Universitario El Escorial in Madrid, Spain. Dr. Sastre is also actively involved in organising educational courses on cataract surgery and medical retina for her peers and opticians.

Dr. Sastre is a compassionate healthcare professional who believes in giving back to the community. She volunteers with "Surgical Eye Expeditions International," a nonprofit organisation dedicated to providing eye care to underserved populations worldwide. Additionally, she participates in various charitable campaigns aimed at treating patients with cataracts who lack access to medical care.

As a GCAA Approved Specialist Aeromedical Examiner, Dr. Sastre plays a crucial role in ensuring the vision health and safety of individuals in aviation.
