Dr. Christos Tzivinikos, an accomplished Consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist, received his general and subspeciality paediatric training in the UK at prominent tertiary hospitals such as King’s College, St. Georges’, and Royal London. He earned a MSc with distinction in Paediatric Gastroenterology at Queen Mary University London and the Institute of Child Health at Great Ormond Street Hospital. He is also an elected Fellow of the prestigious Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in the UK. Prior to joining Al Jalila Children’s, he served as the Chief of Paediatric Gastroenterology Division at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool, which is among Europe's largest paediatric hospitals.

Dr. Christos offers comprehensive care to paediatric and adolescent patients with various paediatric gastroenterology ailments, and has a keen interest in treating Inflammatory Bowel (IBD) and eosinophilic GI diseases (EGID). Additionally, he performs a diverse range of endoscopic procedures, including placement of endoscopic percutaneous gastrostomies from infants to adolescents. Dr. Christos possesses extensive experience in running multidisciplinary feeding clinics for children suffering from neurodisability and congenital heart disease, as well as other chronic diseases. He was elected as a member of the ESPGHAN Gastroenterology Committee for the period 2018-2024 and is an active member of the ESPGHAN IBD, Eosinophilic GI diseases, and Endoscopy Working Groups, participating in the creation of new and up-to-date guidance for the management of GI diseases in children.
