The procedure and treatment was good.

I went to Mr Hinsley with a navicular stress fracture and he suggested surgery was the best route in order to get back to competing in running again. Mr Hinsley was very supportive and reassuring in the process and I was able to go into surgery exactly when I wanted to, which made the experience a lot better. I have had multiple appointments post surgery which has helped guide me back to full fitness so I am very pleased with the whole journey with Mr Hinsley.

David recently performed a fusion on my ankle due to stability issues. He explained my options and took me though the procedure prior to the operation. His professionalism was exceptional. The operation was a complete success and i felt in safe hands from start to finish.

Clearly both an excellent and efficient surgeon. The procedure went well and I am fully recovered. However, his bedside manner is terrible. He seems to take offence at patients who do their research and ask detailed questions based on having done some research on the condition. My final consultation with him, he ran out of the room so fast that I was left there completely unsure whether the consultation had finished or not. I was due to have a final followup, which he failed to schedule at all. I know this type of attitude is well documented, especially amongst senior surgeons, but given that you never know who you’re dealing with, it’s not too much of a stretch to hope that you’ll be treated as if you have a modicum of intelligence and interest in the procedure that is going to be performed on you, especially when you are paying for the service.

Mr Hinsley was excellent! Explained everything very clearly, fielded all my questions and gave me full confidence that the best course of action was taken at all times, following a nasty knee/thigh impact injury playing veterans football. Highly recommended!

David Hinsley has been my consultant for about 14 years and I have had a few operations performed by him, the most major operation was the amputation of my right foot. He has always been very honest with me about the possible outcomes of each operation and supported my decision when I eventually decided to go ahead with the amputation.
