I was delighted to meet Professor Hindley who kindly offered to take me as a private patient having failed to secure Rezum treatment on the NHS. Although I had every intention of securing the Rezum treatment from the outset having undertaken my own careful research we still explored the alternatives objectively which was most reassuring. He was very thorough with his explanations and took the time to answer my questions setting out all the treatment options available to me. It is still early days as I have the catheter removed tomorrow but I am optimistic at this stage that everything bodes well. I would commend Professor Hindley without reservation.

The consultation itself was very professional, well explained and a two way dialogue to listen to my concerns and any questions I had. My next steps were clearly outlined. Prof Hindley is clearly very expert and experienced at what he does, and approachable with it, which is a great combination. I felt I was in very safe hands. He's had to inflict some rather unpleasant things on me, but it was clear he was doing a great job at making them no more unpleasant than they absolutely had to be.

Very knowledgeable and competent

I have seen Prof. Hindley several times now over a period of a few years. I find him to be friendly and welcoming. He explains results of tests and scans very well and is happy to answer any questions. He sets out a plan of the next step and provides details of alternatives including those which he would not be able to do himself. I understand that he is one of the first urologists to use new, less invasive procedures, one of which Rezum, I have undergone myself with good results. Another new focal treatment, High Frequency Ultrasound (HIFU) I have not required but this option was available. I would not hesitate to recommend him highly.
