Professor Adrian Wilson explains and consults with great clarity and care. He takes in to consideration your own needs and fears with full understanding and attention which gives positive confidence when deciding which route to choose from any and all options one has. the above can also be said of his team especially Dr Kristian Kley.

In Oct 2015 I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis and advised by the NHS to have full knee replacements in both knees but having read what risks were involved, I decided I would put up with the pain instead and only proceed with full knee replacement surgery if I had no other choice. In Sep 2019 I was lucky enough to encounter Prof Adrian Wilson and his team at the Regenerative Clinic / HSSH. Having requested MRI scans on both knees Prof Wilson confirmed the NHS diagnosis and made me aware of all the different options. To my delight one of the options was stem cell therapy, with minimal risk, so I tried it without any hesitation. I remember limping into theatre and walking out with no limp and no pain. However, due to a Second and Third Toe plantar plate rupture on my right foot which made me transfer all my body weight onto my left knee, the pain returned with a vengeance. Having completed a successful right foot surgery by Mr Nima Heidary at the HSSH, I underwent Partial Knee Replacement surgery on my left knee with Prof Wilson at the London Clinic, because the HSSC does not offer overnight stays. My operation went extremely well and much to the nurses’ surprise on the 6th Floor I was able to walk unaided on the first day of surgery. The physiotherapists were equally gob smacked when they saw me walk to the hydrotherapy pool carrying my crutches and I went down in history as the patient who walked out of hospital the following day carrying her crutches. Two weeks later, Mr Wilson’s first assistant, Mr Raghbir Khakha was equally surprised to see me drive to the HSSH to have my stiches removed. However, an existing Baker Cyst from 2015 decided to flare up 5 weeks post-surgery, almost punishing me for overdoing it and I found myself at the HSSH once again to have the excess fluid in my knee aspirated and cultured. Everyone was friendly but above all professional. The knee aspiration was undertaken in theatre to avoid infection and it was 30 seconds pain but instant relief afterwards. Fortunately, there was no infection. The remaining fluid took a further 4 weeks to subside and now I have full flexion on my knee, and have started exercising, with caution, to avoid another flare up. I am so grateful to Prof Wilson for administering stem cell therapy as this delayed knee surgery and I was able to undergo a partial knee replacement instead which was not common 6 years ago. Equally grateful for his and his team’s success with my partial knee replacement. Thanks to the stem cell therapy, my right knee continues to be pain free and for this I am eternally grateful.

A fantastic experience with Professor Wilson, I wanted the best for my knee injury and after intensive research Professor Wilson stood out. I felt I was valued as a patient with real concerns about my knee, all questions were answered with care and the procedure was explained really well. After my surgery the professor took out time to see me when I woke up late at night which meant a lot for me knowing my well being was important.
