Really great experience with Mr Karagama. A kind, patient surgeon who really cares about his patients. He managed to inject Botox accurately for my R-CPD despite my small throat aperture. The relief from the symptoms has been amazing.

I have suffered with not being able to burp all of my life which has often led to having an uncomfortable, sometimes painful stomach after eating. I have tried to sort this problem out but have always been unsuccessful. This experience with Mr Karagama has been brilliant, and I am now able to burp. The procedure was very quick and all went smoothly. I would highly recommend this procedure with Mr Karagama.

Excellent doctor, answered all my questions clearly. I felt I was in good hands for my Botox injection for inability to burp and I’m feeling much better now. His PA Jo is also amazing, organised and gets back to you quickly - which is unfortunately quite unusual for medical PAs!

Mr Karagama treated me for R-CPD and enabled me to burp after a lifetime of discomfort. His friendly and caring manner put me at ease for the surgery, and he explained everything in a straightforward and easily understandable way. Being able to burp is life changing - my food and drink choices are no longer limited by the gas factor, and I’m not always bloated now.

Dr Karagama is very personable, so lovely to talk to and very friendly. Diagnosed with RCPD a few years ago he explained the treatment clearly and the success of the procedure. RCPD is diagnosed on symptoms only so he was able to do this over the phone. I live in Cornwall so travelling to London for a consultation would have been too difficult for me especially as I have chronic fatigue. Couple of months post treatment and I can honestly say, very worth it. I did a payment plan which made the treatment more accessible as I'm self-employed. 41 years of not being able to burp changed overnight. I started micro-burping the next day. It has been life changing for me. I don't really suffer with bloating anymore. I have food intolerances so it can occasionally happen but before the procedure I was bloated no matter what I ate, all day everyday, now it is easily relieved by burping so it massively helps even when it is caused by intolerance. I had a lot of pain from gassy build up, this was embarrassing, the bloating controlled everything I wore and I would always try to hide all of it. No diet helped me and I tried everything. I can't believe how much I have been burping, knowing this is how it should be was quite a revelation. I was prepared for the recovery which was fine, manageable and as described. I highly recommend Dr Karagama, he is dramatically improving the quality of life for people with this condition, he has mine. Those who can burp will never know the suffering of someone who can't. I only wish this condition had been discovered sooner. Some people have opted to have the injections externally but I believe personally if you have had this as long as I have it's far better to have the injections internally, it's more direct and in much higher doses therefore limiting the possibly of needing to repeat. I was treated at Blackheath. Easy to find, with parking on site. The staff were fantastic. I came round quickly, ate the food I'd chosen from the menu pre procedure and was absolutely fine to leave shortly after.

Great experience with Mr Karagama. He explained the procedure, side effects and recovery well. The procedure was successful and I felt very relaxed having Mr Karagama undertake it.
