I was extremely disappointed with my appointment. My GP had referred me as he was concerned about my symptoms, yet I was made to feel like I was wasting Dr Gardners time. He was dismissive and rude. The blood tests I was referred for were also poorly managed as it had not been included on the request that a doctor needed to be booked to administer the injection prior to timed blood tests. I was informed the blood tests would take place over an hour at 30 minute intervals, in reality they took 3 hours and the 30 minute intervals were disregarded. I will not be seeing Dr Gardner again due to the poor level of service I received.
Thank you for your review, I take all reviews into consideration to understand how I can improve the service I provide and I'm sorry you did not feel satisfied with the appointment. Reviews are anonymous so I do not know your clinical details to be able to respond in detail, nor would it be appropriate in a public forum. From the details you have given I organised a Short Synacthen Test which is the appropriate test to diagnose or exclude Addison’s disease or other causes of hypoadrenalism. I am sorry it took so long for the Chiltern to organise the test, if it was going to take that long they should have given you the option to come back on another occasion. The exact timings are not critical so hopefully the test will still answer the clinical question. I am sorry if I came across as dismissive, that was not my intent. I note you do not wish to see me again but if you change your mind you are welcome to contact my secretary and arrange a convenient appointment.

Dr Gardner listened carefully to my situation and concerns and gave me sensible and pragmatic advice as well as offering to try a change in medication and a new medication. He had a kind bedside manner and I feel that I’ll get the support I need and a future plan for my progress. Thank you!
