Very happy with the way I was cared for by Mr Preston from first consultation to final treatment. Very attentive, helpful and pleasant. Answered all my questions and I was kept informed every step of the way and very helpful sorting out health insurance problems. Recovered well after surgery and can hardly see ops sites.

Mr Preston has been nothing short of a lifesaver.. from my initial consultation right through to the end of my treatment I had total confidence in him. Straight talking but empathetic. Obviously extremely skilled and had me mobile the day following a major operation. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

I went to see Mr Preston after being recommended by another consultant . Mr Preston listened to my issue of years of suffering with acid reflux and constant vomiting every day. He immediately diagnosed two things i may have been suffering with . After tests and wiping out one . It was recommended i have a toupet fundoplication . I read up on this and worried somewhat about complications and worried ,would it rectify my vomiting but Mr Preston put my mind at rest and reassured me . OMG . Ive had my operation and i am a new person . More energy . No reflux and No vomiting . ( after vomiting everyday for about 20 years this feels like a miracle ) Thanks to Mr Preston . Its early days ( 6 weeks tomorrow since op) but im feeling great and will see Mr Preston in 6months for check up .

Reassuring in explaining the steps to be taken and the risks involved

Mr Sean Preston is a highly skilled and experienced surgeon as well as being reassuringly kind and empathetic. I could not have wished for better care from him and his team. After emergency hospitalisation last year, I was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer on top of a pre-existing hiatus hernia. Of course, this was an extremely frightening time but upon meeting Mr Preston I was calmed by his warm and informative manner. He made me feel immediately at ease as he explained my situation and my options in a way that was simple to understand. It is a very unique, rare and special quality when someone is able to balance incredible expertise with a good-humoured manner but it’s something that Mr Preston does with ease. At 84 I am a very high-risk patient and I was made thoroughly aware (on multiple occasions at numerous appointments) of the dangers of both the general anaesthetic and the surgery itself. Despite the risks I was keen to go ahead with the surgery (an oesophagectomy/tumor removal and hernia repair) and I’ll be forever grateful that Mr Preston agreed to take a chance on me. He and his team had my full trust, I knew that whatever the outcome they were working their hardest to help me through this. It has now been three months since my surgery and, whilst still recovering, I am now eating without a tube again and life is beginning to return to normal. A cancer diagnosis is up there amongst the worst things that a person can experience but the guidance from Mr Preston and his team helped make the ordeal easier to bear. Throughout the process myself and my family were kept thoroughly informed, at no point did we feel left alone. There is no thank you big enough to express how grateful we all are for the care and help that we received during such a difficult time. Thanks to Mr Preston and his team I get to enjoy many more years ahead.

I saw Mr Preston recently for the first time because of significant gastroesophageal pain when eating as well as acid reflux issues. He diagnosed a hiatus hernia using endoscopy and subsequently went out of his way to ensure that the other issues picked up on an ultrasound requested by my GP were thoroughly addressed. He is clearly an experienced consultant who is very knowledgeable in his field. He is also a good communicator and very personable. Overall a real safe pair of hands. A shout out also for his secretary Lisa who is both lovely and also extremely efficient.
