When I discovered a lump in my left groin, my family doctor suspected that it was a hernia that was confirmed via an ultrasound scan. Given the relatively big size of my left inguinal hernia, my family doctor recommended a surgical repair as soon as possible to help minimise the risk of rapid deterioration & potential serious complications. I have chosen to conduct my own extensive research to try find the best surgeon to help me by reviewing the information of every surgeon on the website of HCA Hospitals that owns ‘London Bridge Hospital’ – the well-established and most probably the biggest private hospital based in The City of London where I had good experience as a former patient some years ago. Mr Said Mohamed really stood out in my research as the surgeon who has the best medical training, qualifications & surgical experiences on hernia repairs (both open & keyhole surgery) with the biggest number of testimonials by former patients that far exceeded that of all the 30+ other surgeons I have seen on the HCA Hospitals Surgeon Database. I was delighted & grateful that I could promptly secure my first diagnostic consultation with Mr. Mohamed that was quickly followed by the laparoscope (keyhole) surgical repair of my bilateral hernia at London Bridge Hospital. I have found Mr Mohamed very knowledgeable, personable, a great listener and highly skilled in helping the patient to understand the medical conditions and available options as well as how best to prepare for the surgery and the subsequent recovery. Mr Mohamed has taken seriously my self-diagnosis of a potential hernia in my right groin in addition to the hernia in my left groin and after careful examination recommended the bilateral hernia repair at the same time that was the most efficient choice rather than via two separate surgical operations. Mr Mohamed Private Practice Manager for administrative support and his chosen anaesthetist were top-class operators also – very professional, friendly and helpful at every stage - that thankfully all helped to make my surgical operation a success with the subsequent speedy recovery.

Mr Mohamed was the fifth and final consultant I approached over a possible rectal cancer. His method and rationale was the most logical and the one I had the most faith in. He was really interested in my case which I found heartening. He is approachable and not at all puffed uplike some consultants. Furthermore he is kind and caring. I went with a list of questions on my first consultation and he covered every single item without me having to ask one question. Mr Mohammed operated on me at the London Bridge Hospital and I received excellent care from the hospital team. The operation was a great success and left me with a functioning bottom albeit with a slightly smaller rectum. Far better than some of the other alternatives which I had previously been told about before I met Mr Mohammed. LBH is over a hundred miles away from where I live, frankly I would have travelled any distance to get the outcome I had.
