Mr Surda was highly professional in his care for me before, during and after the sinus surgery that took place in October 2021. He took his time to make clear the possible outcomes when initially assessing my case. I very much appreciated the way in which he involved me in the decision making. His manner was reassuring and measured at all times.

It's been a disappointment on my side after having received the total invoice of this consultation. The reason for that is the cost of nasal endoscopy examination. As a patient, it cannot be expected from me to know that it is 'endoscopy' and it has a significant additional cost of top of the consultation. Blood tests are additional and that's no question but it should have explained to me that during the consultation this will be charged on top and likely to cost around £ xx. Prior to that examination, you already checked my mouth and tongue and said it is likely to be viral or bacterial. If I knew this huge cost, I would decide there not to be examined by nasal endoscopy. This is very disappointing and also frustrating on my side. I had a learning as well that asking if there is an additional cost at every step during the consultation. This feeling is already quite bad.

He prescribed a nasal spray as a first course of action to avoid any further cost to me on tests in the event it was effective, which was much appreciated as I was self-funding.
