The experience from start to finish was one of the most positive I have had with regards to health care. Every single person was professional, caring and put me at my ease, having a hip replacement was daunting to say the least. I was worried as my weight is a concern and thought the staff would make me feel uncomfortable but they were just lovely. Mr Phaltankar is an amazing surgeon who put me at my ease immediately, it had been a shock to be told I needed a THR but I felt I was in safe hands, he came to see me on the day of surgery and talked to me about what was going to happen which I need to know what, where and how. The follow up appointment with Mr Phaltanker again was really positive and I'm almost back to normal after only 11 weeks, the relief from the pain is wonderful and I really can't thank him enough. I would recommend Mr Phaltanker as the go to surgeon and hope if I ever need surgery again I would want him to perform it. I am in awe that there are people who such experts in their field and can make such a difference to peoples lives and he gave me mine back.

I first saw Dr Phaltankar in December 2018 when the X-rays discovered I needed a new right knee, an appointment was made in really good time and the operation was completed before Christmas,, the treatment I received from start to finish was excellent and I can only thank you I can now walk without pain..

I WAS REFERRED TO SEE MR PHALTANKAR VIA THE NHS ASSESSMENT PROCEDURE. MY CONSULTATIONS TOOK PLACE AT THE HIGHFIELD BUPA HOSPITAL,ROCHDALE. HE OUTLINED THE PROCEDURE AND I ASKED RELEVANT QUESTIONS, THERE WAS AN ADDITIONAL COMPLICATION THERFORE I NEEDED A CAT SCAN, AGAIN CARRIED OUT IN A MOBILE UNITVISITING HIGHFIELD HOSPITAL. I WAS SEEN SPOT ON EIGHTEEN WEEKS FOR SURGERY AND SPENT FOUR NIGHTS IN HOSPITAL. ON THE DAY OF THE SURGERY MR PHALTANKAR VISITED ME BEFORE HAND AND BRIEFED ME ON THE OP FOLLOWED BY THE ANAESTHETIST. FOLLOWING MONTHS IF ANXIETY AND LIMITED QUALITY OF LIFE, MY FEARS DISAPPEARED THAT DAY. AS SURGERY WAS ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON, MR PHALTANKAR VISITED ME ON THE MONDAY EVENING TO CHECK MY CONDITION.I HAVE NOTHING BUT PRAISE FOR MY CONSULTANT AND THE WHOLE TEAM AT HIGHFIELD, ON MY JOURNEY I MET MANY DIFFERENT PROFESSIONALS, ALL SUPPORTED BY THE PEOPLE I WILL CALL BEHIND THE SCENES STAFF. FOLLIWING DISCHARGE I ATTENDED THE PHYSIOTHERAPY CLINIC AROUND SIX TIMES AND CONTINUED EXERCISES AT HOME. I WAS SEEN IN THE OUTPATIENTS CLINIC AFTER SIX WEEKS AND AGAIN AT SIX MONTHS BY MR PHALTANKAR, I ALSO HAD AN X RAY TO CHECK THE LATEST PROGRESS. I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO RECOMMEND

Mr Phaltankar explained everything what was going to happen to me. He was sympathetic to my injury and polite and courteous each time we met. He has been supportive and gave me good instructions on how to look after my knee.
