I was very pleased with the advice, treatment and care provided by Mr Nimalan Arumainayagam.

Initially communication was lacking but after expressing my concern with Mr Arum communication improved. Mr Arum explained my condition to me in language that was easy to understand and he listened to my concerns without brushing them off. He also provided information and options that was important to managing the prostate and bladder symptoms and discussed with me the pros and cons of the different procedures to reducing the prostate. I was very happy with the care I received form Mr Arum.

Very personable consultant with a very reassuring and competent approach. He explains medical results and processes in a very clear and understandable way, setting out the next steps needing to be taken and the likely timescales.

He was exceptionally responsive, particularly in arranging for the immediate removal of the stent when it causing problems and in arranging an appointment following bleeding from the bladder stones. I thought he had an excellent manner. Personally I would have appreciated a bit more explanation of exactly what was being done and why. What did not go well was the bleeding caused by the stent following the operation, and things would have been significantly worse if there had been an additional stone in the ureter. So I would ask him to review very carefully whether this operation could be performed differently on future patients.
