It's crass to suggest any operation was enjoyable. However, Professor Aktar did the next best thing: he ensured the whole process was efficient and effective.

During my consultation with Professor Akhtar he confirmed that I had a left hand Inguinal Hernia and then explained how he would perform the repair operation. He made me feel very confident that I had chosen the right professional surgeon. On admission I was again put at ease by Professor Akhtar prior to the operation. On waking he informed me all had gone well and that he had also repaired the right hand side. After one week recovery and minimal paracetamol pain relief I was pain free and today three weeks after the operation I feel completely back to normal. At 81 years I was expecting a much longer recovery so I am indebted to the skill of Professor Akhtar and have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone who requires this form of surgery. Reg

Professor Akhtar checked my hernia again before operation as several months had passed since he saw me last year. I had inguinal hernia only on one side and wanted to repair just that. He suggested to repair hernia on the both sides of my body as other side is weak as well. That way I would avoid to come for another operation to repair that side next year. I have agreed. Professor Akhtar had visited me after operation to check how i am doing. Three weeks after operation I had consultation with professor Akhtar and he was very pleased with my recovery and results of the operation.
