I received excellent care from Mr Poskitt throughout the whole experience of having my inguinal hernia repaired. He was very professional and I couldn’t have asked for a nicer surgeon. Mr Poskitt came highly recommended to us by his peers. He is known amongst his Consultant colleagues as being “their man” if any of their patients require a Consultant General & Vascular Surgeon. His bedside manner is second to none and at all times he displayed a highly sensitive approach to my hernia problem exhibiting great empathy and understanding of my situation. He took the time to explain the various approaches possible for the operation and after much consideration he decided to proceed with a local anaesthetic. This meant that I was awake and throughout the entire procedure, he would constantly check to make sure I was not under any duress. Having had a stroke two years earlier, he was extremely attentive to my needs which we will be eternally grateful for. On the day of the operation I was prepared and brought into the theatre and made to feel special and cared for by his excellent Team. The operation lasted just over an hour and post-operatively, I required very little in the way of pain relief. A few Paracetamol for the pursuant 48 hours was suffice and there was no need to take Codeine even though I was thoughtfully provided with it in the event it was necessary. I have just had my 2 week follow-up appointment with Mr Poskitt. My wound is minimal and I also have extremely little bruising. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have had such a talented Surgeon and would recommend Mr Poskitt unreservedly.

From the first meeting, Dr Poskitt's demeanour was reassuring and his experience and expertise instilled such a great confidence. I was surprised to learn how many 1000's of hernia operations he has performed over the years. Of course that translates to experience on the operating table and I'm sure is the reason why I had such a successful result. Post-op Dr Poskitt was very reassuring regarding the actual operation and the follow-up call was very helpful too. The other thing I did notice was that his colleagues were also very complimentary of his experience and his demeanour which obviously is a characteristic he carries with him. I would certainly recommend him should you find yourself under his care.

At my first consultation, Mr Poskitt made me feel so welcome. He could not have done enough for me. He answered all of my questions and more. He didn’t let me leave without a proper understanding and ensured he’d answered all of my questions. He ensured he followed all policies and protocol, but also made it a comfortable and friendly experience. Mr Poskitt is a very intellectual man and has excellent experience and knowledge to support his practice. Mr Poskitt doesn’t know it, but he’s changed my life with this operation. And I can’t thank him enough for all he did. He came to see me after my operation and before, as well as the consultations etc. he ensured I was comfortable and ok at all times. He ensured I had the proper after care and gave me advice for this. I can’t support or thank Mr Poskitt enough, and I’m already telling lots of potential new clients about him!
