Had a lovely consultation with Mr. Walczak about some surgery on my knee, he explained all the pros and cons about the operation and not only put my mind at rest and suggested the best way to go ahead. I did not feel rushed and he took his time to make sure I understood everything and suggested I think it over before we proceed. Overall a very pleasant consultation and I am happy for him to operate on me in the near future.

This was my second knee replacement surgery. Experience what I learnt from my first right knee surgery proved invaluable. The game changer being that I had to prepare for the knee surgery in terms of ensuring that my muscles we’re in the best condition they could be. This requires being organised in terms of health, exercise and ensuring upper body strength as well as strong quads. After surgery be prepared for pain but take your pain medication. Be organised in your approach to this as it will help with your daily physio. Ask questions. Be prepared to put in the work as the pain will decrease as the weeks go. It took me four weeks to get there but taking the pain medication is vital to assist in the recovery as is rest. Physio is vital so follow the guidelines before and after surgery. Movement is vital to knee mobility and strengthening. Your physio is your friend in this. Ask questions and find ways to make this work. I am now at a point where I can move around and know that I must continue with the exercises and this will ensure that the surgery gives me what I wanted a pain free knee and freedom to enjoy walking.

Mr Walczak explained everything he was going to do in my procedure, he explained after that he did a bit more work so there maybe a bit of pain for longer than he first said but only possibly a week longer.

I find Mr Walczak to be a very caring Surgeon. Him main aim is to make his patients well and for them to have a comfortable life. I find him to be very accommodating and understanding.

It is with my deepest gratitude that I am writing this, I truly felt Mr. Walczak is caring concerned easy to talk with.
