After not being listened to regarding my severe period pains, and negative reaction to hormone treatments, for over 20 years of visiting gynocologists, Miss Roopa’s empathetic approach and deep knowledge saved me. I was starting to fear my periods as the pain and the bleeding only kept increasing, robbing me of a full week of life every cycle. I couldn’t leave my bed most days and had to work from home, couldn’t stop screaming without taking every painkiller I could get (including TENS device and NSAIds) and sleeping through most of the pain. Miss Roopa explored my options and ensured that all other root issues would be excluded through diagnosis (hysteroscopy and laparoscopy) and treated me with the respect that I have ownership over my own body, by explaining that the endometrial ablation would mean that I wouldn’t be able to have children, and leaving the decision to me (something that is serverely lacking in the medical industry generally). I now have very light periods and hardly any pain, and I feel like Miss Roopa has given my life back to me. I would highly recommend her to anyone struggling with period issues, she’s is simply the best consultant I’ve had the luck of finding.
