I was referred with a detached retina by my optician. Within three days I was operated on to repair it by Mr Ho. The operation was smooth and painless. Within two weeks my sight was almost back to normal, and since then I've had no further problems or complications. From my point of view everything has been very professional and effective, and Mr Ho's personal manner has been kind and friendly. I am very happy with the service that I received right from day one.

Two years ago I had a cataract surgery which was a failure, dropped nucleus, they told me I was unlucky. So I was referred to Dr Ho to repair the damage done (vitrectomy) which he did perfectly. Soon after that we discussed what to do next and I realized he was/is a person I could trust, I have consulted with three other surgeons considered the best in London but none of them gave me the same feeling. He performed a cataract surgery to the other eye and a secondary lens insertion for the first eye all done perfectly. Now after two months from the last surgery I can say that I am extremely happy about the result , the best vision in sixty years of my life. So after all I was lucky!

My experience with Mr Jason Ho was as a result of me developing a full depth Macular Hole in my right eye on 24th July 2020. I was seen initially the next day by very professional and helpful members of the Prince Charles Eye Unit's Opthalmic team with eye scans that made an initial diagnosis of my problem. My follow-up appointment on the 24th August was with Mr Ho and followed some further scans which showed that my Macular Hole had developed further and significantly worsened. Mr Ho was excellent in explaining what had happened, discussing the prognosis for the outcome of an operation and answering my questions; I am a Chartered Engineer by profession and typically want to understand the detail of issues and how they can be dealt with - Mr Ho really satisfied my interest and concerns about my condition and next steps. Mr Ho indicated potential sedative measures following him asking me about my squeamishness or potential stress about an operation, for which I was very grateful. My operation took place on 18th September, with Mr Ho conducting initial preparatory examinations with a female colleague alongside. Mr Ho explained her presence and confirmed that I was OK with the involvement of others. Mr Ho talked through what was going to happened and made arrangements for the anaesthetist to see me. The operation was conducted under a local anaesthetic, which I was not looking forward to; however, Mr Ho and the support staff really helped me in my preparation for the operation. During the operation I could hear dialogue between Mr Ho and his female colleague as the operation progressed. Their dialogue was calm and confident (which helped me) and Mr Ho's responses to his colleague's questions about aspects of the operation were equally calm and collected. During the operation I noticed some visual effects that I hadn't fully anticipated (i.e. "sight" of victrectomy extraction tools and the introduction of fluids) but was keen to understand; Mr Ho again explained what was happening very well in my opinion. The operation concluded with Mr Ho explaining that he considered that it had gone very well and he and other staff explained the administering of eye drops, posturing and next steps. Whilst I was in the post-op discharge / waiting area Mr Ho came over to see how I was recovering - that was much appreciated. My first follow up appointment was on 30th September, again with Mr Ho, and was preceding by the usual vision checks and included further eye scans. Mr Ho asked how I was, how I felt the operation had gone, what I had experienced since the operation and how my eyesight was at that time - my answers were all very positive. The scans displayed a very good outcome with the Macular Hole being fully sealed and to my untrained eye looking as good as normal. Mr Ho was visibly and audibly very pleased with the outcome, which made me very happy about it too! Mr Ho revised the ongoing usage of my remaining eye drops, recapped over ceasing posturing, resumption of more normal activities and was very happy to answer a series of other questions that I had about next steps for me and personal activities. Mr Ho advised me that there will be a further follow up appointment in about 6 weeks. Apologies if that has turned out to be rather verbose, but in summary and to answer the initial questions I have been extremely happy with Mr Ho's explanations, bedside manner and the overall experience through my treatment, and have no hesitation in 5 stars in each case.

Excellent at his profession , well mannered and kept well informed of what’s happening to my eye . Very pleasant surgeon . Done my operation timely and efficiently with the good results at the end . Dr Ho is the best doctor who NHS cannot effort to loose .

I can hardly say enough good things about Dr Jason! He saved my sight! While pregnant, I had diabetic retinopathy which caused tractional retinal detachment and a massive bleed in my eye so I needed a vitrectomy, alongside several other serious surgeries at the same time. I couldn’t see at all out of one of my eyes when my baby was born, but Dr Jason operated on me straight after I had my baby, and performed brilliantly under pressure. He was always calm, professional, reassuring and empathetic. He has the magical hands of a brilliant eye surgeon and I’m extremely lucky to have been under his care. I’ll have to follow him all over to make sure his hard work remains intact!

For the last 2 years i have suffered with retinopathy. Despite many laser treatments the condition has deteriorated to the point where I need surgery. I would highly recommend Jason Hos expertise and care. He did an excellent job with the surgery and I am so happy with the results. I would like to extend further gratitude to Mr Ho’s team for their incredible professionalism and support during this time, i could not have asked for more in these stressful and uncertain circumstances.

Jason Ho took the time and effort to explain fully the procedure. He ensured that I fully understood the pre and post operative stages. He explained in the appropriate detail what I should expect and ensured that my expectations were held at a sensible level.

Mr Ho was incredibly patient and attentive - he listened to all my concerns and treated me with the utmost professionalism and kindness. He is a very intelligent, skilled Ophthalmologist and I can not recommend him highly enough.

Jason Ho operated on my detached retina , performed cataract surgery and laser treatment. All procedures were successful . His approach was respectful and professional and aftercare was excellent. I was very nervous about the procedures His clear explanations and confidant manner completely reassured me and helped me to trust in his knowledge and skill. He is clearly an expert in his field and I highly recommend him. I cannot thank him enough for his care and attention and for saving my sight.

Jason was very professional in his approach to my operation I found him very reassuring as I was nervous having to be on my own he did an amazing job my operation was successful I would have every confidence in him doing any more producers, he has a good bedside manner that means a lot.
