Dr Julian Collinson is a well experienced Consultant Cardiologist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, also seeing private patients at Cromwell Hospital, 77 Wimpole Street, the Royal Brompton Hospital, Chelsea Outpatient Centre, Lister Hospital and London Basinghall Clinic. At the Royal Brompton Hospital, Dr Collinson is the current Clinical Director for Medical Specialities.
He has extensive expertise in all aspects of general cardiology and specialises in the treatment of coronary artery disease using interventional cardiology and the implantation of devices including pacemakers and defibrillators.
Dr Collinson qualified in medicine from King’s College London in 1992, later completing his general training in Manchester. He then specialised in cardiology and was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist at the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust.
In 2000, Dr Collinson completed his MD for his research work surrounding the epidemiology and management of acute coronary syndromes at Imperial College London. He is still actively involved in research and his current research interests are in heart failure and valvular disease. His previous work has been published in a number of peer-reviewed journals and is recognised as impactful to angina and heart failure literature.
