Dr Lewis has been treating me for over fifteen years following my having had a TIA in 2007. In that time he has managed my hypertension with considerable skill and understanding and I have total confidence in his sympathetic analytical skills. Although clearly an expert in the treatment of hypertension Dr Lewis diagnoses all aspects of a patient's health, and has treated me for ancillary medical problems or has referred me for treatment by colleagues. I cannot speak more highly of the outstanding help and understanding I have received from Dr Lewis.

I first met Dr Lewis in 1987 in when heavily pregnant with my first child and in hospital with extreme hypertension and oedema, Dr Lewis was leading the team on how best to manage it in order for safe delivery of my baby. I was later reviewed by Dr Lewis in his clinic where he advised I take aspirin should I become pregnant again .I didn't realise at the time that this was a new concept for treating hypertension in pregnancy. I went on to have two more children, in each pregnancy taking aspirin experiencing no further complications from hypertension. We next met in 2012 privately following growing concerns I had regarding my constant high blood pressure readings that despite my GP's best efforts to manage , it was evident it not working. I was also experiencing a lot of adverse as a result of so many medication changes- which was really unpleasant dismissed by my GP as being unrelated. Dr Lewis throughout my consultation was very attentive, kind and reassuring. He confirmed some of the side effects I was experiencing where attributed to the medication prescribed. After a series of comprehensive tests he prescribed a new course of medication that has kept my blood pressure under control to this very day, for which I am truly grateful. There were times in 2012 when I felt extremely scared and only a heart beat away from having a stroke, I am in no doubt that Dr Lewis saved me. I am under Dr Lewis once again following what has been described as a mini stroke - whilst the stroke team have been excellent it is Dr Lewis who once again I have turned to. I trust him implicitly and know under his skilled care and reassuring manner I will continue to live a healthy life all be it with a few tweaks to my medication. I would strongly recommend anyone who experiences hypertension to put their trust in Dr Lewis, he is an exceptional physician and expert in his field.
