Explained the procedure well and eased my nerves.

Having suffered a number of Nstemi heart attacks since March 2019 my case was referred to Dr Henriksen his sub speciality is Interventional Cardiology, reopening of arteries which have been blocked for a long period of time. In my case it was the dreaded Left Anterior Descending Artery (sometimes called the Widow Maker when blocked). I was informed that he was happy to list me for a Chronic Total Coronary Occlusion Intervention to hopefully improve my Angina symptoms which required me to almost on a daily basis to use my GTN spray. At my first meeting with Dr Henriksen prior to the procedure he immediately put me at my ease. I was worried as I had been informed that the procedure was different from having a stent and could cause a bit of discomfort. He explained the procedure in laymans terms. I enjoyed his persuasive logic in him using the example of a collapsed railway tunnel where it was excavated quicker by clearing the blockage from both ends. He was very clear and concise and adviced that sometimes the procedure is not successful and I would then have to continue with the numerous medications I had been prescribed. He made me feel very confident that he would be successful. On the day of the procedure he had me sign the consent forms giving me an approximate time I would be taken. He adviced me the procedure would take about 3 hours and I would be awake. When I arrived at the Lab I was greeted by helpful and caring staff. During the procedure Dr Henriksen gave me encouragement in advising me he was making good progress in clearing the artery. Finally that he had cleared the artery completely and was beginning to clear some of the branches off the artery. His estimate of 3 hours was spot on. On returning to the ward Dr Henriksen visited me to ask how I was feeling and that he felt the whole procedure was a success. Dr Henriksen contacted me at home asking me how I was recovering and if I had some improvement in my symptoms. I was pleased to inform him that I had only used my GTN spray a couple of times in contrast to using it 24/7 for over 2 years. Even my wife has commented that I look healthier and a better colour. I could not have felt safer in Dr Henriksen's hands. The procedure was completely pain free apart from discomfort in both wrists from the local anesthetic. I will never be able to repay the debt of gratitude I owe this wonderful cardiologist.

From start to finish Dr Henriksen was very professional explained exactly what treatment would be best for me and how the procedure would be carried out and how it would benefit me. Dr Henriksen was very clear and concise when answering any questions or giving any instructions. Everything went as planned and I was able to return to work soon after the procedure. I would have no hesitation to recommend Dr Henriksen to anyone.

Throughout the process of diagnosis through to treatment Dr Henriksen was excellent. He explained the issue very well and reasons for the particular tests and subsequent treatment. During the procedures everything was well explained and I felt in very safe hands.

Dr Henriksen explained clearly what the procedure would involve. He ensured my questions were answered.

Dr Henriksen was very professional in all his dealings with me, explaining everything in detail and making sure that it was very clear to me. A charming and very nice person.

Dr Henrikson is a wonderful doctor. I was very anxious and scared when I saw him and he was extremely understanding of my worries and very kind and reassuring and didn’t hurry me at all. He answered all my questions very patiently and even took the trouble to ring me at home at 7pm to give me the very reassuring results of my latest scan. I cannot recommend him highly enough. I cannot begin to thank him enough.

Dr Henriksen was calm and relaxed, he answered questions with detail and understanding. He asked questions about my overall health and other conditions, which made me feel like he was looking beyond the symptoms. At no stage did I feel like I was being rushed out the door, which is a common experience I have had.

First class explanation of my condition and guided through the pros and cons with ease and no alarm to me, whole appointment with Dr Henriksen was 1st class.

He is kind, nice , polite ,caring and knowledgable....Easy to get on with and he is endowed with persuasive logic.....Lucky to have him as my treating consultant cardiologist.
