My AVM had been misdiagnosed as a lymphangioma several years prior. It was becoming not just unsightly but painful when I saw Dr Brookes. He knew immediately what to do for it and used the most innovative method to collapse it. He explained the procedure fully and answered all of my questions before and in the post-op period. I'm delighted with the result. I never wore my hair up because of the huge lump on my neck and had to take great care when turning my head because the AVM limited my neck movement. Now, you would never know it had been there! Highly recommend!

Dr Brookes took over my care from a previous doctor for a complicated AVM approx six years ago after I suffered a catastrophic necrosis due to surgery. Understandably I had no trust in doctors at that time but Dr Brookes has done a lot to restore that trust. He has gone above and beyond to treat my condition (and still does). He is compassionate, caring and listens to my many concerns. He has a genuine interest in my condition and has managed to cope admirably with the many challenges I and my AVM present. I find him very Professional but not in a condescending way, and a sense of humour that goes a long way to help in some situations. Bottom line is I can trust him, and that is priceless to me.

An amazing doctor and a great specialist with an outstanding bedside manner and a sense of humour, helpful during a normally stressful time in hospitals. Found time to see me after the procedure and answer all the questions I may have had, also, made sure I had all contact details in case I had any further questions in days following the procedure.
