My Consultant was amazing Dr Ina Nnatu and the health care ladies were all very friendly and helpful. I just felt things should be explained better before and on the day you arrive. I felt very lost when I arrived had never been any were like it before and cried a lot due to how I was feeling. It was the other patients who comforted me and told me I would be ok. I felt the front reception of the main building was not very welcoming considering were I was.The nurse who took me through asked me to fill out lots of paper work and didn't explain much else. I had a man, who was working on reception in the ward on the night shift knock on my door at 10.30pm on his own and asked if he could come in, I said no so he stood at my door and started to tell me a load of stuff which I should of been told my nurse in the day. The food was ok staff working in the canteen were really nice. There is a lot of CPT therapy and a lot of the therapy is done at the same time so you have to choose between them. There is not a lot to do at the weekends. I think you should be given times that you can see your consult, key person and doctor so you are not waiting around and worrying if your miss them. You should also see your therapist/key worker the day you arrive so you can start the therapy the next day, as they choose which therapy you should do. I arrived at 10am on a Thursday and was told I couldn't see a therapist till the following afternoon, so I would of missed out on all that therapy . I asked if it was possible to see someone sooner which they did arrange for the afternoon. I was lucky to be given Emily who was really lovely but you only see them once a week, which I think is not enough. I think more exercise should be put in to the program especially at weekends. During the week they do yoga at the end of the day but that is it. Exercise is so important for mental health. I also think there should be more mindfulness classes as there is only one a week. It was nice to meet other patients and I was lucky to meet a couple who were really nice.

Hospital in need of a refurbishment as a bit tired in places. Very surprised it has no gym facilities as essential to mental health well being. Food is excellent and catering staff super friendly and always there to help. Sometimes popular classes over subscibed due to space constraints but overall good.
