About Ms Xiaochun Wang

Malou (Xiao Chun Wang) is an experienced Chinese acupuncturist and accredited counsellor based in Dublin, with over 25 years of practice in both China and Ireland. Her journey into healing began with three years of nursing training in China, where she studied Acupuncture and the use of Chinese herbs. She then worked as a Traditional Chinese Medicine nurse in Shanghai, specialising in Internal Diseases and Neurosurgery, witnessing the powerful combination of Western and Chinese Medicine in accelerating patient recovery.

To bring her expertise to Ireland, Malou completed two years of additional study, earning a Diploma in Acupuncture from Shanghai Acupuncture College Ireland. In 2010, she furthered her clinical skills by practising in Gynaecology and Oncology departments at Yue Yang Hospital in Shanghai.

In addition to acupuncture, Malou is a proud full member of IACP and a member of ICEEFT. Her therapeutic approach is humanistic integrative, drawing from various frameworks such as attachment theory, CBT, existentialism, and mindfulness. She specialises in Emotional Focus Therapy (EFT) to foster harmonious connections within individuals and couples.

Malou's specialties include addressing emotional conditions like stress, anxiety, depression, and insomnia, as well as providing support for cancer care, gynaecological issues. Also, she offers a group therapy to support women's menstrual health through TCM, psychology and shamanism lenses to understand the power within. I am so deeply grateful to have met Malou. Before seeing her, I had consulted many therapists, but none of them were able to help me find the root causes of my problems. Malou is truly exceptional. She guided me step-by-step to uncover why I am the way I am, helping me finally face and accept who I am today. She has also taught me so much valuable knowledge along the way. I am endlessly grateful for her help and guidance.

I’ve been going to Malou for a few years now and couldn’t recommend her enough. She is a masterclass in both inner and outer healing. I attend her talk counseling and acupuncture sessions. She has a gorgeous energy that creates a very safe space. She’s given me tools for living grief and navigating modern life. She’s also given me real relief on long nagging injuries. Lastly, she’s taught me a lot about my body! She knows so much and loves sharing her practice with the world. Thank you for everything, Malou!

I've been attending Malou for acupuncture and talk therapy on and off over the last few years. Initially for grief and stress, and more recently for support when I went through treatment for breast cancer. I'm always made to feel welcome, comfortable and well listened to. The room is very relaxing and perfect conditions when you lie down for the needles! Malou always ads some interesting wisdom and tips for you to think about when you are leaving.
