About Ms Wendy Heavin

Ms Wendy Heavin is a CORU-registered Occupational Therapist with over 20 years of experience supporting people to live well with persistent pain, fatigue, and long-term health conditions.

She understands that living with ongoing pain or fatigue can gradually affect every aspect of life, making even the simplest daily tasks feel overwhelming. Throughout her career, Ms Heavin has developed a deep understanding of how persistent pain and chronic illness impact not only physical health but also confidence, identity, independence, relationships, and overall wellbeing.

Her passion for this work has grown from witnessing how people living with persistent pain, fatigue, and long-term health conditions can become disconnected from the activities, roles, and relationships that matter most to them. She recognises that when symptoms are poorly understood or difficult to manage, it is easy for individuals to lose confidence, withdraw from everyday life, and feel disconnected from their sense of self. She has also seen the significant effect these conditions can have on a person's ability to remain in work or return to employment, influencing not only financial security but also self-esteem, purpose, and quality of life.

Ms Heavin believes that with the right knowledge, support, and practical strategies, people can regain a sense of control over their symptoms and rebuild meaningful, fulfilling lives, regardless of how long they have been living with their condition.

Her approach is compassionate, collaborative, and firmly grounded in the realities of everyday life. She takes the time to understand each individual's unique experience, helping them make sense of their symptoms and how these interact with their daily routines, lifestyle, and responsibilities.

Working in partnership with each client, Ms Heavin explores the factors contributing to symptom flare-ups, helps identify personal triggers, and develops practical, evidence-based strategies tailored to the individual's goals and circumstances.

She supports people to:

  • Better understand their condition and the factors influencing their symptoms.
  • Develop confidence in self-managing persistent pain, fatigue, and long-term health conditions.
  • Recognise personal triggers and early warning signs of symptom flare-ups.
  • Build sustainable routines that balance activity, rest, work, and meaningful daily occupations.
  • Improve participation in the activities that are most important to them.
  • Return to work safely and confidently, or remain in employment through practical, individualised strategies and workplace recommendations.
  • Rebuild confidence, independence, and overall quality of life.

Through ReImagine Living Services, Ms Heavin's goal is not simply to help people cope with their symptoms, but to empower them to participate fully in the lives they want to lead. She believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to engage in the activities that bring purpose, connection, and meaning, even while living with a long-term health condition.

She welcomes enquiries from individuals seeking practical, personalised support to manage persistent pain, fatigue, or chronic illness, and is committed to helping each person regain confidence, independence, and a greater sense of wellbeing in everyday life.
