I am a CORU-registered Occupational Therapist with over 20 years of experience supporting adults living with persistent pain, fatigue, sleep difficulties, and long-term health conditions. I work with people experiencing a wide range of conditions, including chronic pain, chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), persistent symptoms following cancer and its treatment, cardiac, respiratory, musculoskeletal, chronic neurological and autoimmune conditions, and women experiencing perimenopause and menopause symptoms which affect daily life.
Throughout my career, I have seen how persistent pain, fatigue and chronic health conditions, despite advancements in medical treatments can make it difficult to participate in meaningful activities, maintain relationships, and remain in or return to work. Over time, many people lose confidence, independence, and a sense of identity as they struggle to manage symptoms that are often misunderstood or difficult to explain.
I have dedicated my career to developing specialist knowledge and skills in the assessment and management of persistent symptoms. I have completed specialist training in fatigue management, the R.E.S.T. Sleep Programme alongside ongoing professional development in the management of persistent pain, fatigue, and long-term health conditions. This enables me to provide evidence-based, personalised interventions that are tailored to each individual's needs and goals.
A particular area of expertise is supporting people with pain, fatigue, and chronic illness to return to work and remain in employment. I understand the significant impact that health challenges can have on work performance, confidence, financial security, identity, and overall wellbeing. I work collaboratively with individuals to identify barriers, develop practical strategies, and build sustainable approaches that support successful participation in work and everyday life.
My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and person-centred. I take the time to understand each person's unique experience, helping them make sense of their symptoms and how they interact with their daily routines, lifestyle, work, and personal responsibilities.
Working in partnership with my clients, I identify the factors contributing to symptom flare-ups, explore individual triggers, and develop practical, personalised strategies that support their goals, improve function, and enhance participation in the activities that matter most. I believe that with the right knowledge, support, and strategies, people can regain confidence, reconnect with what is important to them, and live well despite ongoing health challenges.
