Ms Ursula Sattar is an integrative psychotherapist accredited with the Irish Association for Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP) and the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP). She worked for The Dublin Rape Crisis Centre for eight years and she represented the DRCC in the Dochas womens prison at Mountjoy for seven years. She currently works in private practice.

She has fourteen years experience supporting individuals facing a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges such as anxiety, low self-esteem, panic attacks, relational trauma and relationship difficulties, grief and loss .

Ursula has a particular interest in working with trauma-related issues, including the lasting impact of childhood and adult sexual, emotional, and physical abuse. She provides a safe, compassionate space where clients can explore painful experiences at their own pace and begin the process of healing and growth.

Her work is trauma-informed drawing from internal family systems, sensorimotor approaches and Brainspotting. She is sensitive to people feeling isolated in long lasting distructive patterns. She works well with attachment wounds, post-traumatic stress and depression.

As a neurodivergent-aware therapist, Ursula values difference and recognises the importance of tailoring therapy to each individual’s unique way of experiencing the world. She also warmly welcomes members of the LGBTQI+ community and works collaboratively with issues relating to sexual identity and orientation.

Ursula is also experienced in supporting clients with anger issues, cultural differences, health-related concerns, work stress, and personal development. Her integrative approach draws on multiple therapeutic modalities, including art therapy, enabling her to adapt her work to best meet each client’s needs and foster meaningful, lasting change.

Ursula welcomes new clients to see in person or by video consultation.

Ursula has a very warm, supportive and professional approach. She helps to bring clarity and kindness to situations, feelings and experiences. She has helped me so much to deal with anxiety and develop confidence and self-compassion. I always feel lighter when I leave after a session with her. I would definitely recommend!

Words cannot justify how much Ursula has helped me with my mental health and dealing with current and childhood issues. I've tried other people before and they were nowhere near as effective as Ursula. Her manner is excellent and I feel comfortable sharing everything with her, she's the only person I've shared some specific issues with as I was never comfortable enough doing so with anyone else before. The welcoming atmosphere and how Ursula relates, empathises and offers guidance is unmatched. I cannot recommend Ursula enough or begin to describe the positive changes she's brought to all aspects of my life.

I have been seeing Ursula for almost two years now. She has seen me through various life events and difficulties during that time. At the same time, she has helped me enormously with resolving complex past issues. I feel that I am better able to express my personality thanks to her. Ursula is excellent to work with if English is not your first language. She has superb cultural awareness and sensitivity and is very open minded.

Ursella’s is an amazing councillor, I had a double whammy hit me in early 2023, I started with Ursella shortly after that and it was amazing, there were tears and laughter, I learned so much about my self and I also got to close out some childhood traumas that have hung over me for 50 years. I understood how everything that I experienced so far in life is what shaped me, I understood the part I had in my relationships breaking down I cannot explain how good Ursella is, if you have trauma there is no better person to go see
