About Dr. Rowena Hughes
Dr Rowena Hughes is a medical doctor with experience in hospital medicine, pharmaceutical medicine, dermatology, hormonal health and medical aesthetics. She worked for 10 years as a hospital doctor within the Health Service Executive (HSE) before pursuing a career in the pharmaceutical industry, where she was involved in the development and launch of therapies in oncology, cardiovascular medicine and dermatology.
Dr Hughes has held senior leadership roles within the pharmaceutical sector, including serving as Global Medical Director for Men’s Health at Besins Healthcare, a company specialising in hormonal therapies. Her work in this area has focused on men’s health and hormonal medicine. She is a member of the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM).
She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and is certified as a Menopause Specialist by the British Menopause Society and the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare in the United Kingdom.
In addition, Dr Hughes holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Dermatology and has completed advanced training in medical aesthetics, including a Mastery in Medical Aesthetics qualification. Her clinical interests include dermatology, skin health, aesthetic medicine, hormonal health, menopause care, men’s health, diagnostics and weight management.
Her multidisciplinary background combines experience in clinical medicine, pharmaceutical development and specialist health services, with a focus on supporting patients across a range of dermatological, hormonal and wellbeing-related concerns.
