Dr. Ronel Barnard

Dr Ronel Barnard is a General Practitioner with over two decades of experience and a special focus on ADHD and other neurodevelopmental disorders. She graduated with an MB.Ch.B degree from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, in 1997. Following her internship and community service, Dr Barnard dedicated ten years to psychiatric practice, gaining extensive expertise in child and adolescent, adult, and geriatric psychiatry. During this time, she treated a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, substance misuse, psychotic disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and learning difficulties.

In 2010, Dr Barnard expanded her horizons as a senior ship’s physician, travelling globally and working with diverse patient populations. She later joined a global assistance company, delivering medical care to expatriates in remote regions, further honing her adaptability and cultural sensitivity.

Since 2018, Dr Barnard has been based in County Cork, Ireland, where she combines her work in general practice with a special interest in psychiatry. Her focus on ADHD treatment and management is complemented by her rich background in psychiatry and international medical practice. At Neuromed Clinic, Dr Barnard provides a holistic, patient-centred approach, helping individuals navigate the challenges of ADHD with tailored care and support.
