Mr Rick Pretorius

Mr Rick Pretorius is a full time private Consultant Surgeon with Specialist Health Services in Kilkenny, performing his procedures in UPMC Aut Even Private Hospital. He has over two decades experience in health care, with more than a decade focused in Kilkenny, Ireland.

The main focus of his practice is on hernia surgery, including standard and complex repairs, including epigastric, umbilical, femoral and inguinal hernia. He also provides complex abdominal wall hernia repair for incisional and complex primary abdominal wall hernias. Minimally invasive (laparoscopic) approach is the preferred method for suitable hernias. He is a member of the European Hernia Society as well as the British Hernia Society.
