About Dr Peter Keenan
Dr Peter Keenan is an experienced orthodontist originally from Newry, Co. Down, who has been caring for patients across Galway, Mayo and the surrounding communities since 1999.
He graduated with his dental degree from Queen’s University Belfast in 1992 and worked in private general dental practice until 1997. He then pursued postgraduate specialist training in orthodontics in the United States at the University of Iowa, completing the University of Iowa Orthodontic Program in 1999.
Dr Keenan is an Invisalign® Certified Provider and is recognised as one of the leading Invisalign providers in Ireland. His clinical expertise includes early orthodontic intervention for children as well as the management of complex orthodontic and orthognathic surgery cases in adults.
He is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Irish Academy of American Graduate Dental Specialists, the Orthodontic Society of Ireland, and the Irish Dental Association.

Had my final visit this week after being a patient of Peter Keenan for nearly 3 years. I had Invisalign for approximately 2 years and the latest appointment was the final check up. Everything went perfectly, the treatment was a small bit longer than originally planned but I didn’t mind at all as I wanted the best outcome, and so did Peter. Getting Invisalign has not only massively improved my smile, but also let me form long lasting habits of daily flossing. And it’s so much easier now that the teeth are properly spaced. I got the 3 sets of Invisalign Vivera Retainers and they should last me a few years. So far I have been wearing them every night and I don’t plan on stopping any time soon. Some of my friends got Invisalign/braces earlier in life and ended up needing to get them redone, and I won’t allow that to happen to me. The staff are incredible in the office too, very friendly and everyone is efficient. I have been and will continue to recommend Keenan Orthodontics to everyone that is considering it.

I cannot praise and thank Dr. Peter Keenan and his staff enough! I have no hesitation in recommending Dr. Peter Keenan and his amazing team to a everybody! Everyone was so helpful. The whole process was explained to me from the very beginning. I was always called at my appointment time and you weren't left sitting in the waiting room (even though its a very busy practice). If you needed to reschedule your appointment, Maria and the ladies were always so understanding. Appointments were always scheduled at a time that suited me (before work at 8am, on my lunch break or after work). There were no hidden costs. I absolutely love my new smile and I'm very happy with the treatment received. Thank you so much again to Dr. Peter Keenan and his entire team in Galway.
