Mr. Paul Nicholson

Mr Paul Nicholson is an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon with a career specialising in hip and knee surgery. He graduated from University College Dublin in 1987 before becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1992. He also obtained a Master of Surgery (MCh) in 1998. After completing the Irish Higher Surgical Orthopaedic Training Programme, he obtained the FRCS (Tr & Orth) in the same year and later received the Certificate of Specialist Training (CSST) in 2001. He is fully recognised on the Specialist Register of the Medical Council of Ireland.

Mr Nicholson further advanced his expertise through two years of fellowship training in Melbourne, Australia, focusing on hip and knee arthroplasty as well as major trauma.

In 2002, he was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to the Meath and Adelaide Hospital, where he served for a decade. He is an active member of the Irish Institute of Orthopaedic Surgeons and remains committed to the highest standards of patient care.

Mr Nicholson’s primary interests lie in hip and knee joint replacement, and he performs more than 300 procedures each year. In addition to his arthroplasty expertise, he has considerable experience in trauma surgery, knee arthroscopy, and anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.
