Ms Niamh Treacy is a psychotherapist practicing at Aistear Counselling and Psychotherapy. She is a pre-accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and is committed to providing a supportive, collaborative space where clients feel heard and understood.

Niamh’s work is grounded in a pluralistic approach, recognising that no single therapeutic method suits everyone. Instead, she works alongside each client to explore what feels most helpful and meaningful for them, tailoring her approach to meet their unique needs. Her practice draws on a range of modalities, including person-centred, humanistic, and integrative therapies, allowing for flexibility and insight within the therapeutic process.

She holds an MSc in Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy from IICP College. Through her training and experience, Niamh has developed a strong interest in supporting clients through a variety of challenges, including anxiety, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, work-related issues, trauma, and life transitions.

Niamh aims to create a safe, non-judgemental environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings, build self-awareness, and work towards positive and lasting change at their own pace.

I was really nervous about starting therapy because it was something I had never done before, and I’m not generally very open about talking about my problems. But from the consultation call on day one with Niamh, it all felt so natural and easy. I felt comfortable opening up straight away, and the conversations flowed so easily. I’m really grateful for the support and understanding throughout the process.

Dealing with Niamh was very professional and pleasant. She offered the support I needed in a way that was goal focussed, constructive, and challenging in the most positive way. Could not recommend her more to others seeking help and support when needed.

I have engaged in several sessions with Niamh , from the beginning Niamh carried herself very professionally in her approach and had an extreme calmness about her. Niamh provided me with a platform to be able to express myself and supported me throughout. Niamh is extremely warm, patient, kind and has given me the tools to be able to make sense of my thoughts when I am becoming overwhelmed.

Niamh creates a safe space and is incredibly supportive. Out sessions helped me understand my life and myself better and Niamh helped shape me into who I am today which is someone I’m proud of. I now thing about things in a helpful way and leave each session with more clarity and perspective. I’m really grateful for her support - she’s been amazing to work with. I’m a very lucky client.
