Dr. Mohammad Al Hammoud

Dr Mohammad Al Hammoud is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Medical Retina Specialist practising across several community-based clinics in Ireland. He completed his undergraduate medical training at Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2012.

Dr Al Hammoud has gained valuable international clinical experience, including an internship at Universitätsklinikum des Saarlandes (UKS) in Germany and four years of specialist ophthalmology residency training at University Emergency Hospital Bucharest, developing a broad foundation in general ophthalmology and complex eye care.

Since moving to Ireland in 2018, Dr Al Hammoud has focused his practice on the diagnosis and treatment of retinal and chronic eye conditions. He specialises in managing conditions such as age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic retinopathy, helping patients preserve vision through personalised assessment, monitoring, and advanced treatment options.

He is also experienced in primary and urgent eye care, as well as the management of common ocular surface conditions including dry eye disease and blepharitis. Dr Al Hammoud is committed to providing accessible, community-based ophthalmology care and is a member of the Irish College of Ophthalmologists.
