About Dr. Man Ching Wong
Dr Man Ching (Christopher) Wong is a highly experienced Consultant Psychiatrist at Private Therapy Clinic Ireland, where he provides specialist care for adults and young people both online and in person from the Dublin 2 clinic. Originally from Hong Kong, Dr Wong studied medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), graduating in 2013. He went on to complete extensive postgraduate training in psychiatry, gaining experience in general adult psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and liaison psychiatry. His career has included senior posts at Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown, St Vincent’s University Hospital, Galway University Hospitals, and St John of God Community Services. He currently combines his private practice with his role as a Consultant Psychiatrist at Connolly Hospital, ensuring his work is closely aligned with best practice in the public health system.
Dr Wong has wide-ranging expertise, having worked with early intervention psychosis teams, liaison psychiatry services in general hospitals, and community multidisciplinary teams. His clinical interests span mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, psychosis, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
In addition to his medical qualifications, Dr Wong has pursued advanced specialist training. He is certified in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) for autism assessments, trained in the MARSIPAN protocol for managing severe eating disorders, and skilled in evidence-based psychotherapies including Mentalisation-Based Treatment (MBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
He is a member of both the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) and the College of Psychiatrists of Ireland (MCPsych). Fluent in English and Chinese, Dr Wong provides culturally sensitive care to a diverse patient community.

Had a really positive experience with Dr. Wong. He was very professional, and explained everything clearly, which made me feel completely at ease. I especially appreciated how we worked together to gradually find the right dosage for me, while being very flexible for me and my situation. I never felt rushed and always felt listened to. We discussed every question I had, not just for the present situation, but around my future on the medication too. Would definitely recommend!

It was great, Dr Wong listened very attentively to my story but was also very good at leading the conversation to help cover all the bases that i may have missed out on mentioning.
