About Dr. Kevin Treacy

Dr Kevin Treacy is a Clinical Psychologist and founder of Rowan Tree Clinic in Dublin, with extensive experience supporting children, adolescents and adults with neurodevelopmental differences and complex psychological needs. His specialist work encompasses the assessment of autism, ADHD, dyslexia and related developmental profiles, informed by years of experience across both community disability services and specialist assessment settings.

His professional approach combines clinical expertise with a strong commitment to understanding each individual beyond a diagnostic label. He places particular emphasis on recognising personal strengths, understanding individual differences and ensuring that people are actively involved in decisions about their assessment and support. Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Treacy lectures on the Doctorate in Counselling Psychology programme at Trinity College Dublin, contributing to the education and professional development of future psychologists.

Dr Treacy completed his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the National University of Ireland, Galway. His academic background also includes undergraduate and postgraduate study in psychology and developmental disability.

Dr Treacy began his post-qualification career with the Health Service Executive (HSE), working on a dedicated Assessment of Need team. In this role, he conducted specialist diagnostic assessments, particularly for autism. He subsequently spent more than a decade working within Adult Disability Services, gaining substantial experience in understanding complex presentations and supporting people with diverse developmental needs. This background informs his current work, particularly his emphasis on considering the whole person rather than interpreting difficulties solely through behavioural observations or diagnostic criteria.

He later established Rowan Tree Clinic, bringing this experience into an independent clinical setting serving children, adolescents and adults .Dr Kevin Treacy combines specialist neurodevelopmental assessment experience, a substantial background in disability services, independent clinical practice and postgraduate teaching. His work is distinguished by an emphasis on collaborative assessment, individual strengths and a broader understanding of each person's developmental needs.
