Ms Kerry McDonagh is an MIACP accredited psychotherapist based in Sligo, offering compassionate, client-centred support rooted in extensive professional training and lived experience. She holds an MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and works with a wide range of concerns, including addiction, anxiety, depression, bereavement, trauma, self-harm, relationship difficulties, health-related issues, disability, child-related challenges, dementia, and women’s issues.
Kerry’s practice is grounded in an integrative and humanistic therapeutic approach, drawing from Person-Centred therapy, Psychosynthesis, Rogerian principles, creative therapies, and both short- and long-term face-to-face work. She believes that therapy should be shaped around the individual, adapting her methods to support the unique needs and worries each client brings.
Having walked her own therapeutic path, Kerry deeply values the transformative potential of the therapeutic relationship. She integrates body-based approaches, including Polyvagal Theory, to help clients understand the workings of their nervous system and the reasons behind their emotional and physical responses. By teaching practical self-regulation strategies and recognising when co-regulation is needed, she supports clients in navigating activation and building a more grounded, resilient inner experience.
