Joanne Corbett is a CORU-registered dietitian with extensive experience in mental health nutrition and eating disorders within the Irish Health Service. She is also a certified mindfulness teacher through University College Cork, a registered yoga teacher, and a certified facilitator of the Befriending Your Body programme. Joanne works exclusively with adults over the age of 20, creating a calm, compassionate space where clients can slow down, reconnect with their bodies, and find a sustainable path to wellbeing in a fast-paced, appearance-driven world.
Joanne is the founder of Wellbe, a weight-inclusive, trauma-informed dietetic practice established in Cork in 2023, which welcomes people of all body shapes and sizes. She has over 14 years’ experience working in eating disorders and disordered eating, including 12 years with HSE mental health services, where she supported adolescents with eating disorders and their families in both regional inpatient CAMHS settings and specialist outpatient multidisciplinary teams. Her current work focuses on supporting adults who feel trapped in cycles of chronic dieting, binge eating, stress eating, yo-yo dieting, and body shame.
Her approach is grounded in non-diet nutrition and intuitive eating, with a strong emphasis on body autonomy, psychological safety, and evidence-based care. Joanne holds an MSc in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Ulster, completed in 2004, and integrates her training in mindfulness and yoga to support both physical and emotional wellbeing. She offers both in-person consultations in Cork and online appointments nationwide, with referrals commonly coming from GPs and mental health professionals across Ireland.
In addition to her clinical work, Joanne is a founding member of Weight Inclusive Dietitians in Ireland (WIDI) and is actively involved in education and advocacy. She is a guest lecturer on the MSc in Nutrition and Dietetics programme at University College Cork, teaching on eating disorders, weight-inclusive care, and nutrition counselling.

€120I am so grateful to have found Joanne after 20 years of trying to figure out how to improve my relationship with food, restriction, and body image alone. She has helped me work through some very ingrained false beliefs about healthy eating, establish a regular and adequate eating schedule, and opened my eyes to how undereating impacts your life and mental health. I am still working through my issues, but thanks to Joanne's support over the past months I am on the path to a freer, healthier life. I cannot thank her enough for her time, patience, compassion and kindness to date.
Joanne did a thorough and detailed holistic assessment and was always there to answer any follow up questions.
I could not recommend Joanne enough. She has been extremely thorough throughout my time working with her and after four years struggling with gut health issues and trying different approaches it is the first time I have seen results. Her approach was really important as it was practical and she really took into consideration what changes and adjustments were manageable for me to fit into my lifestyle given that I am working full-time and was also studying part-time when I started working with Joanne. Joanne explained the benefits for any diet or lifestyle change to me in detail which we were putting in place as part of my programme which was really beneficial as it helped me to understand my symptoms. She also took a gradual approach to making any adjustments to my diet or lifestyle which was really beneficial as I never felt overwhelmed an she consistently accessed my progress. Joanne is a great person to work with as she is friendly, personable, has an abundance of knowledge and tools and ensures that the approach works for the individuals lifestyle. It is the first time in a long time that I do not have to worry about going on trips or holidays or being in big groups as my symptoms have drastically improved with the guidance of Joanne.
I have found Joanne very kind and informative re diet and wellness. She has helped me greatly this past year. I am very happy with the service she provides!
Joanne was very professional and easy to talk to. She gave me lots of valuable information and ideas that were very beneficial. She was extremely helpful and I would highly recommend
I was really nervous about going down the road of "fixing" my relationship food. I had struggled with disordered eating for 15 years or more and I thought I would never have a "normal" mindset when it came to food. After my sessions with Joanne I can honestly say it has changed my life forever. I no longer obsess about what I can and can't eat and food doesn't take over my life anymore thanks to Joanne. I can't thank Joanne enough for giving me the tools to finally have, after so many years, a "normal" relationship with food. She has given me my life back and I'm forever thankful. Highly, highly recommended Joanne Corbett.
I had another wonderful session with Joanne who has been helping me with ARFID and body issues. She held space for me, helped me feel supported and comfortable and offered much wisdom. In a world drowning in diet culture she is a balm & a light.
I worked with Joanne for a few months, and as someone who's recovering from an eating disorder, Joanne's approach really enabled me to feel safe around my food choices and secure in the fact that would be sufficiently nourished whilst I learned to trust the new routine.
I found Joanne excellent to work with I genuinely couldn't recommend her highly enough.
Joanne is a highly knowledgeable and compassionate eating disorder dietitian. She was extremely attentive during our sessions and shared her expertise in a way that felt tailored to my own experiences with food. I felt genuinely heard and supported, and our work together has helped me practise greater self-compassion and move toward healing. Her holistic approach made a meaningful difference for me, and I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking thoughtful, personalised care
