About Ms Jemma Henry

Jemma Henry is a CORU registered fertility dietitian based in Dublin, Ireland. She is the founder of Nourish My Fertility and has nearly 20 years of clinical experience as a dietitian.

Jemma specialises in fertility nutrition, helping men and women who are trying to conceive or preparing for IVF understand how nutrition and lifestyle can support their fertility.

Her particular areas of interest include egg quality, sperm quality, male fertility and nutrition in the three months before IVF. She also provides specialist dietary advice for women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and endometriosis.

Jemma's interest in fertility nutrition developed through her own experience of IVF. Despite already having over a decade of experience as a dietitian, she was surprised by how little reliable nutrition information was available to people preparing for IVF.

She saw women cutting out entire food groups, following restrictive diets and spending significant amounts of money on supplements, often without knowing whether these changes were necessary or supported by evidence.

This prompted Jemma to look more closely at the research on fertility nutrition, particularly the role of diet and lifestyle in supporting egg and sperm development. She went on to establish Nourish My Fertility in 2022, with the aim of helping individuals and couples access reliable, evidence based nutrition advice when preparing for IVF.

Her approach is practical, personalised and grounded in scientific evidence. She reviews each person's current diet, supplements, lifestyle and relevant blood results to identify what is worth changing, what is already working well and what may not be necessary.

Jemma has a particular interest in the three months leading up to IVF, helping individuals and couples focus on nutrition and lifestyle changes that are relevant to egg and sperm development.

She is a founding member and Chairperson of Fertility Dietitians Ireland, which aims to improve standards in evidence based fertility nutrition. She also contributes to professional education through talks, published articles, media features and expert panels.

Through Nourish My Fertility, Jemma offers online fertility nutrition consultations and her three month IVF Preparation Method™ for individuals and couples.

I found Jemma’s page online after failing my first IVF transfer. Jemma put me at ease straight away on our first phone call and supported me right up until I was 13 weeks pregnant with the option to continue into trimester 2. Jemma put a plan in place for my FET, small practical changes and was also a brilliant emotional support for me during the IVF process. Anyone I know going through IVF, Jemma is the first person I recommend! I recently celebrated my sons 1st birthday and I really don’t think that would be the case without her
