Prof. James Mccarthy

Professor James McCarthy is a consultant cardiothoracic surgeon. Professor McCarthy specialises in coronary artery bypass graft surgery and mitral valve repair surgery. Professor McCarthy was awarded the Rene Favaloro fellowship in cardiac surgery. They have been programme director for the Cardiothoracic Surgical Training Scheme. They have been Director of the Cardiothoracic Surgical Department and Director of Heart & Lung Transplantation at the Mater Hospital. They have been the President of the Irish Heart Foundation. They have been awarded a Masters in Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons.
