Dr. Ghazi Ismael

Dr Abdulfattah Lakhdar is an experienced specialist in endocrinology and diabetes, with a particular clinical focus on obesity and metabolic disorders. He graduated in medicine from Garyounis University, awarded in 1976, and currently practises at Nuffield Health Holly Hospital, Ramsay Rivers Hospital and The Frater Clinic.

Dr Lakhdar provides comprehensive assessment and management across all areas of diabetes and endocrinology. His specialist interests include thyroid and parathyroid disorders, pituitary and adrenal diseases, obesity and metabolic syndrome, erectile dysfunction, hyperlipidaemia and endocrine hypertension. He also has extensive experience managing complex and difficult-to-control diabetes, as well as diabetes-related complications.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr Lakhdar maintains an active research programme focused on developments in diabetes care. His research interests include newer therapies for diabetes, the prevention and management of diabetes complications, and advances in obesity treatment. He is committed to applying developments in endocrinology and metabolic medicine to support effective, individualised patient care.

Dr Lakhdar is a member of Diabetes UK, the British Endocrine Societies and the Royal Society of Medicine, reflecting his ongoing engagement with professional education, research and developments across endocrinology, diabetes and metabolic health.
