Qualifications

Dr Emma Duignan graduated in Medicine from the National University of Ireland before completing specialist ophthalmology training in Ireland. She subsequently undertook fellowship training in Medical Retina, Ophthalmic Genetics and Visual Electrophysiology at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, one of the world's leading eye hospitals. She was awarded an MD by Trinity College Dublin for her research into inherited retinal disease and ocular genetics and holds Fellowship of both the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (FRCSI Ophth) and the European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO )

Medical Degree

Graduated in Medicine (MB BCh) from the National University of Ireland through the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland in 2011.

Basic & Higher Specialist Training: Completed specialist ophthalmology training in Ireland through the national training programme centred at the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital.

Subspecialty Fellowship: Undertook a Medical Retina Fellowship with a specialist interest in ophthalmic genetics and visual electrophysiology at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London (2019 to 2020).
